FSCL cooks at Quantum House

On March 28, the Florida Sugar Cane League teamed up with the Lord’s Place to cook dinner for the Families at the Quantum House. The Quantum House is a home away from home that helps families whose children are receiving treatment in Palm Beach County for a serious medical condition.

There were over 20 families from all over the world currently staying at the Quantum House and we were more than happy to help cook for them. The residents enjoyed a meal crafted from locally grown produce, including corn, rice, and green beans! A big thanks to Chef Robert and Chef David who took our great produce and created an amazing meal for these families. Everything, including the desert, featured a Fresh from Palm Beach produce item.

Florida East Coast Railway Society

The Florida East Coast Railway Society joined us on a special version of the Raisin’ Cane Harvest Tour. Their behind the scenes tour took them to US Sugar’s Rail Depot, where they were able to see Engine 148. Engine 148 was a steam engine which hauled sugarcane to the US Sugar Mill during the 1950’s. The Engine is currently being restored in the hopes that it can be operated after its decades-long retirement.
